Friend of the Week
Each week we will celebrate a child starting with the week of September 15-19. We will be doing this in a way that mimics facebook. Each child will complete a profile and will be asked to share his/her “profile” with the class.
When it is your child’s turn, please fill out the profile page that will be attached to the reminder; you will receive it one week prior to your child’s special week. Please practice with your child and practice reading their recommended book so when it is presentation time, they feel prepared.
Your child will have their profile page displayed under the Friend of the Week banner and after their week is over we will move it to another place in the room. At the end of the year, all profiles will come back home. So if there is a special picture you do not want at school all year long, it might be a good idea to send a copy instead of an original. Some children may have pets that they would like to share with the class. If a pet is going to be brought to school, please email me the week prior so we can set it up because, due to allergies, we will share pets outside. Some children may also like to bring a treat to share. Stone Bank is focusing on healthy choices this year and all treats brought in should be healthy treats only.
Parents are welcome to visit and help their child read their recommended book during this special week. The time blocked out to do this is, on Tuesdays from 2:10-2:25. Our schedule this year is pretty tight, so if this time does not work for you, we can connect by email to attempt to set up another time.
